My dog nibbled a chicken bone. Is he okay if he didn't swallow it?

For the most part I recommend monitoring after chicken bone ingestion - while sometimes they can become lodged in the esophagus or the intestines, and they can also cause stomach upset, the majority of the time they don't cause any symptoms at all. Most dogs chew them into small pieces before ingesting them. If Neveah vomits, has a decrease in appetite, or develops diarrhea contact your vet right away.

I'm not sure how big Joey is, but in my experience it would be uncommon for a single chicken wing (or half of one) to cause any problems unless he's a very tiny dog. I would monitor him closely for the next couple of days for any signs of a problem - like repeated episodes of vomiting, acting lethargic, or not wanting to eat. These can be signs of an obstruction or damage to the intestines, so he should see a vet right away if you notice any problems. But as long as he's eating and drinking and acting normal, you shouldn't need to worry :)

Hello. As long as Bandit did not show any indication or irritation or problems swallowing the chicken bone, he should be fine. The bone will most likely soften in his stomach & be digested. Just watch him for the next few days for any signs of digestive distress including vomiting, a loss of appetite, bloating or abdominal pain. If this is a cooked chicken bone and just one bone usually it will be digested and not cause your dog any issues. It is best to observe him for the next couple days for signs of GI upset to be on the safe side. If Hercules has loss of appetite, vomiting, abdominal pain, straining to have a bowel movement or lethargy then a visit to his vet is recommended.

Pesci is a big dog so he may be ok. Keep a close eye on him. If you see vomiting, diarrhea, blood in his poop, a loss of appetite, or lethargy, then it's causing problems and he will need to see a vet. I'd monitor him for the next three days to be safe. I hope this helps!

Monitor for vomiting, constipation, blood in the stools and lack of appetite, if any of them are showing these symptoms- take them to the vet ASAP in order to be checked and treated for a possible obstruction or foreign body ingestion.

If not, then you will not have to worry. If so, this is potentially a serious situation. The bone can splinter can harm the stomach or intestines. A blockage can also result.
