My dog is outdoors. What areas need sunblock besides nose and paws?

If it is a light colored like white or tan and has a pink pigment on the nose and the hair is thinner this is a good idea. Watch the ears also as they can be a problem if white haired also. Just be careful to get a safe dog version or a human one that does NOt contain zinc oxide as this can be hazardous if large amounts are swallowed

Excessive sun exposure can certainly be damaging to the cells in the skin in both humans and animals. Dogs can be predisposed to melanoma, hemangiomas and certain auto-immune disorders of the skin. It is recommended to use sunscreen lotion / spray that is intended for use in animals that will be in excessive amounts of sun. Great question! It's is a very good idea to use sunscreen on Pablo this summer. I would recommend using Vetbasix, which is specially formulated for cats and dogs. You can get it in Australia online or in a pet store.

Most dogs don't need sunscreen. Some dogs with sensitivities to sunlight or thin, fine, white hair may need sun protection - usually in the form of sun avoidance or clothing. If sunburn is an issue for Noble, I would recommend having him examined by the vet to see if there is a sun sensitivity or disease process allowing this to happen. The issue with most sunscreens is that the dogs are prone to licking it off. If you want to try a human product, make sure that there is no zinc in the sunscreen.

Hi, yes I would definitely recommend to get some sun cream and you can try a sun cream for cats called Dermascent on Amazon UK or use baby suncream which is fragrance free and zinc free (I think I have used one from Boots before). Hope this helps !
