My dog had stringy worms in poop weeks ago. Are they still there?

No, it would be highly unlikely to see worms in every stool. Worms only pass through the stool intermittently, just as they only shed their eggs intermittently. Be sure that the deworming medication that you purchased is appropriate for the type of worms that are present. If Diamond's worms resemble spaghetti, they are likely roundworms, whereas if they resemble grains of rice, they are likely tapeworms. Tapeworms can be a bit trickier to treat and will likely require prescription based dewormers from your vet. As fair warning, if Diamond has a large burden of worms, she may vomit or have diarrhea with worms present, but this is usually short-lived. I hope that all goes well!

It looks like Layla has roundworms. They look like strings of spaghetti. I can't say if it's dead or not, but if it's stiff, it sounds like it's dead. If you gave her a deworming treatment, it appears it is working. Give her another one in two weeks to kill all the worms. I hope this helps.

It's hard to tell from the photo, but if they are round and "spaghetti-like", they are probably roundworms. Most over the counter dewormers can take care of roundworms, however your vet can also prescribe deworming medications, and you can bring in a sample of them to your vet if needed to be identified in person.

It sounds like Cabbage may have roundworms. They are long and thin, and look like spaghetti. You will need a deworming treatment to kill them. I recommend Panacur. You can get it OTC at a pet store or your vet's clinic. You will need to give Cabbage a second deworming treatment two weeks after the first in order to kill all the worms.

It would be worthwhile taking a sample to your vets office to confirm exactly what species they are but if long and thin they are likely to be a roundworm species and not tapeworm (flat segments and often moving). Yes she sure can. It can take up to 1 week to rid the first round of worms in her system. Then as the worms in her system go through their 2 week life cycle (from baby worms to adult worms that you see in the poop) they should be treated again as a re-emergence of worms is seen. So the deworming schedule that I follow to ensure all worms (baby's and adults) are gone is as follows: 1) Deworm today 2) Deworm again in 3 days 3) Deworm again in 2 weeks But technically and most of the time you can get away with just doing #'s 1, and 3.
