Your puppy may have an upper respiratory tract infection which can be common in young puppies because their immune systems aren't fully developed. He may need some antibiotics and/or antihistamines to help stop the sneezing. The other cause of sneezing could be from a foreign body, like a piece of grass, that has become stuck in hos nose. If this is the case the sneezing will not resolve until it is removed. I would recommend taking Roscoe to the vet to be checked out so he can be treated appropriately. I hope this helps. I'm sorry to hear that Rocco isn't feeling well. From your description it sounds like he may have an upper respiratory infection. Given the nasal discharge and increased effort while breathing, I would recommend that you have him seen by a veterinarian. They will perform physical examination and may recommend blood work to ensure there is nothing more serious going on. Some upper respiratory infections are viral in nature and will resolve with time;however, in some cases antibiotics are needed if there is a bacterial component to the infection.

With a dog as young as he, my first guess would be a seed or bit of grass that he has sneezed into his nasal passage. Since he seems to be feeling okay otherwise I don't think he needs anything special done before he gets in to see the vet. If they don't find something else causing his sneezing, they may need to sedate him in order to explore his nasal passages for any sign of a foreign body.

Periodic sneezing can just be a sign of allergic rhinitis, especially if he is otherwise eating well and behavior hasn't changed. Contact your vet to see if there are some antihistamines that can be tried for now, then continue to monitor him to see if the sneezing improves over the next few days. Thanks for posting! Oh dear-it sounds like Rocko has a upper respiratory infection! Possible causes may be bordetella infection (kennel cough), canine influenza, or canine distemper virus. I would highly recommend Rocko be taken to his nearest veterinarian today or tomorrow for an exam and antibiotics at the very least. Rocko may be IV fluids and other supportive medications as needed.
