My dog is sneezing with a bloody nose and discharge. What to do?

I would definitely be concerned about the bloody nose. Since he does frequent the dog park, infections such as bordetella, influenza, or even contagious nasal mites are possible. Poor Daisy! She is an older girl, and unfortunately this sneezing with blood in her snot could be due to a malignant growth (cancer) in her nasal cavity. It could also be due to a foreign body, fungal infection, or respiratory infection. Because this has been ongoing for a while, it's best that Daisy is seen by a vet either today or tomorrow. The vet can do a physical exam, blood tests, urinalysis, x-rays, and may look up her nasal cavity with an endoscope to diagnose what is causing her symptoms. Once a cause is found, the vet can discuss treatment options with you.

She could have a grass seed stuck in her nose, or it may have been stuck and moved on but caused irritation. The nose is biggeer than you think so often the endoscope is needed to have a good look and temive anything stuck. I would make her a appointment at the vet as it will likely come to that. If discharge is clear it couldnt have been stuck long as usually foreign mayerial causes an infection. If you want to try something first yku could get a syringe of saline (boil kettle, let cool add a little salt) and gently flush her nose. Do it slowly so that she does not choke on the water, she will swallow it. She may not tolerate this and if not do not persist as you could hurt her. If she lets you this may dislodge what is stuck or give the cavity a good rinse. If this doesnt resolve the issue it is time for the vet.

Yeti may have a nasal parasite (Oestrus ovis L.), or fungal infection in his upper airways. There are also other diseases that can cause bleeding from the nose, heat stroke, mechanical trauma (sand irritation), injury, ulcers, bacterial and viral infections. Apply gentle pressure to his nose if it starts bleeding again, or apply a cold compress to his nose to see if that helps. Lexus really needs to go see a vet as soon as possible. A long term nose bleed is a medical emergency. My main concerns would be exposure to toxin that might affect his ability to clot his blood. This could be rat poison or another toxin. However a foreign object up his nose, trauma and infection can cause bleeding too. He needs to have blood work to detect if he is clotting his blood and make sure his platelet number is normal. If he will let you apply pressure to his nose and maybe even ice to the bride of the nose to slow the bleeding until you get him into a vet.

Excessive sneezing like this could be a sign of foreign material in the nasal cavity (sometimes a piece of fluff or plant material can get stuck), or potentially a nasal polyp, tumor or infection. If this extreme sneezing continues I'd recommend having your vet examine Pilsner - they might recommend sedation for a nasal flush and exam.
