Why are my dogs sniffing and licking my spayed dog's rear and pee?

Poor Lulu! If she has been checked for underlying problems that could cause incontinence (such as diabetes, Cushing's disease, or chronic kidney disease), then I agree that it's likely her incontinence is due to being an older spayed female. I would recommend asking your veterinarian about medication to control this condition, such as Proin or DES (diethylstilbestrol) - these are quite effective at managing incontinence in most cases :)

This is a tricky situation and could have several possibilities. Monitor Hannah's drinking and urination volumes closely. If they have increased, consider having her examined and evaluated for diabetes mellitus, as would cause glucose (sugar) to spill into her urine, making it sweet and possibly more palatable for Remington. Otherwise, if Remington has been licking Hannah's urine and other items obsessively, this could be a sign of nausea (although this seems like a stretch). This is unusual behavior and I think that the best course of action would be to start by taking Hannah to her vet for a urinalysis to determine if there is glucose in her urine, crystals or signs of infection that may be tempting to Remington.

I would assume the small is from her anal glands I would recommend having a veterinarian express them to make sure they are not infected or impacted. If they are infected it can cause excess licking but not linked to urinary issues. If dogs are spayed very young they can get incontience issues. However I would highly recommend doing a urine culture first and making sure she is 100 percent healthy before starting incontience medications

Poor girl. It sounds like she may have a urinary tract infection, that is not affected her systemically. UTI's cause excessive drinking and urination, and often accidents in the home b/c it is hard for the pet to hold their bladder if the bladder is inflamed. I would highly recommend taking Lulu to your vet to have her urine checked. Bloodwork analysis may also be recommended to check her organ functions as well. It may be that she has a urinary infection changing her smell that has caused this behavior. I recommend a urinalysis just to be sure. Otherwise this can be a way to show dominance over her if some of the household dynamics have changed. I generally do not think of humping as a medical problem for the male dog, more as a reaction to something new in his environment. Horrible odors are usually caused by bacterial infections. So when Macie licks her vulva, she is massaging secretions out which should be odorless. It appears she has a bacterial infection since there is a smell. She could be suffering from a vaginal infection or a UTI, Peeing in the house and straining are cardinal signs of a UTI.I suggest you take her to your vet for an exam. Bring fresh urine (you can catch it with a kitchen ladle) or do not take her out to pee before you go to the vet, as the vet will need urine to examine. Macie will need antibiotics for at least 10 days, sometimes longer,

It is possible that your female is going into heat and he is interested. I have also noticed dogs become very interested in females when they have a urinary tract infection. I would encourage you to have her evaluated by your veterinarian soon. If she is in heat and you don’t want a pregnancy you should devise a plan to keep them separate.
