My dog is sneezing a lot suddenly. Should I be concerned about him?

Hachi's sneezing could be a caused by a couple of things such as an upper respiratory infection, environmental irritant (dust, pollen), or allergies for example. Given that he is otherwise acting normal, I would monitor him for now. Should the sneezing continue over the next couple of days, it increases in frequency, he starts coughing, his appetite decreases, he becomes lethargic, and/or there is a discharge from his nose or eyes, then I would take him into the vet for a health check. I wouldn't be very concerned with what you are describing. It's likely that the vomiting was unrelated to the recent sneezing and I don't get too concerned about an occasional vomit as long as the dog is otherwise acting normal. The sneezing may be due to something irritating in the environment, or a minor infection. I would check to see if there are any new perfumes, diffusers, or other possible new smells that have been introduced to the household. Excessive sneezing like this could be a sign of foreign material in the nasal cavity (sometimes a piece of fluff or plant material can get stuck), or potentially a nasal polyp, tumor or infection. If this extreme sneezing continues I'd recommend having your vet examine Pilsner - they might recommend sedation for a nasal flush and exam.

I'd recommend having Gigi examined by a vet - this sounds like extreme sneezing. There might be a foreign object stuck in her nose. If she has also had nasal discharge then an infection, growth, or even a tooth root abscess could be causing the sneezing.

Frequent sneezes can be caused by many things. If he s having an occasional couple of sneezes throughout the day he could have a minor inhaled allergy. If he is having more little fits of snorting sneezes these could be reverse sneezes - also often caused by inhaled allergens. If either of these are the case and the sneezes become more frequent you could contact your veterinarian for an antihistamine dose. If it is just occasional I wouldn't worry about it too much and I would just monitor. If Sanza is having fits of violent sneezes, he could have inhaled plant material or a foxtail that may be stuck in the nose. If this is the case I would have him evaluated by his veterinarian as soon as possible. If the sneezing progresses to nasal discharge or coughing he may have an upper respiratory infection. In this case I would also have him seen by a veterinarian.

If Dior is otherwise normal, I would continue to monitor him at home for signs of illness, such as lethargy, rectal temperature over 103, coughing, decreased appetite, etc. If these occur, then he should definitely get checked out by a vet.

Max could be sneezing for several reasons and the most common are infection or allergies. A foreign object stuck in the nose, fungal infection or cancer can also cause dogs to sneeze. If his sneezing is continuing beyond a week, I recommend to have him seen by his veterinarian. The doctor will perform a physical exam and should be able to get a better idea of what is going on. You can use a humidifier, an air filter and make sure that the filter in your furnace is changed on a scheduled basis to help improve air quality and may help with the sneezing.
