Why does my dog shiver and shake so much when I give her a bath?

You dog may just be anxious/nervous about the new experience. Make sure he is nice and dry so he is not too cold. You may also want to try and distract him with a walk or a game with his favorite toy to help him stop thinking about it. It could be that Mennu doesn't like baths, and she's shaking afterwards due to fear or cold. Baths can be stressful, and that can lead her to be lethargic. I'd avoid bathing her unless absolutely necessary. Best of luck.

Shaking is often a sign of pain. Check BJ over to make sure he's not injured. Please don't give him human pain medication. It doesn't sound like the shaking is from the bug you saw and giving a bath should have gotten rid of it. If all looks normal and he's eating and drinking then keep him quiet and hopefully he'll be back to normal soon. If he continues to shake and he's not eating or feeling well definitely take him to your veterinarian right away.

This can be normal, especially when the fluids are cold. There are a couple things you could try. One is is wrap part of the fluid line in a heating pad. As the fluid flows through this part of the line it can warm up a little bit. If you don’t have a heating pad, you can try something similar with a warm bowl of water. Make sure that neither end of the line is in the water, but a small loop in the middle of the line. I hope this helps!

Binky may have just become overheated and/or uncomfortable when covered up and then, once uncovered, felt better. If these episodes continue, especially if there is no reason she would be overheated, then I would recommend taking her to the vet to be checked out so any underlying neurological issues can be ruled out. It's unlikely that the bath burned him if it was a temperature that a human was comfortable with. However, he could have pulled something in a leg or his neck. Since it's been going on for 2 days at this point, I'd recommend a general check up to try to determine what is going on.
