No, this degree of constipation is never normal. I strongly recommend a full vet check urgently - she may have an obstruction of prolapse which could become very difficult to treat due to stretching of muscles and nerves if not addressed in time

Hormonal changes can sometimes cause changes to the GI tract. I would keep an eye on Diamond and if she doesn't have a bowel movement in a few days, has other signs of illness, or seems in distress, schedule a visit with your vet.

Swelling around the anal region could be an indication of an impacted or infected anal gland. The constipation you describe could be due to lack of fiber in the diet, eating something out of the ordinary, or perhaps an infectious cause such as an intestinal worm infection. If Mila has not seen her veterinarian for this yet, I would recommend this happen soon. It is a little difficult to say exactly what is going on with Daisy - she may have a recital prolapse (a condition where some of the tissue in the rectum actually comes out) or chronic irritation if she is scooting on carpeted areas. Scooting may be related to anal gland impactions, infections, or intestinal parasites. I recommend having Daisy seen by a vet as soon as possible because she is likely uncomfortable and the conditions above require treatment. I hope all is well!

Offer her more water. Yiu can mix it with equal parts of unflavored PediaLyte. Plain, canned pumpkin (NOT pie filling) may also help get things moving again. Mix in a half teaspoon with her meals. If symptoms persist or worsen, have her seen by your veterinarian.

This could be due to the obvious discomfort if her being in heat but it could also be due to anal gland blockage. You should take her to the vet in order to get it checked if you think she is in serious discomfort.

Hello, thank you for using PetCoach. This is not normal for a heat cycle. The perivulvar area looks red and inflamed which is most likely from the diaper. The diaper is keeping too much heat and moisture in/around the vulva. You may be keeping the diaper on for too many hours. If you continue with the diaper this area will likely get infected.
