Why does my dog get short seizures when running or out of breath?

So sorry about your dog. Besides it being caused by a seizure disorder, he could have something like laryngeal paralysis, collapsing trachea or be having a syncopal (fainting) episode from a heart problem. You could try to record one so your vet can see exactly what is happening. If the episodes continue and your vet is not able to control them, ask for a referral to a specialist for more testing. It might be a good idea to take a chest x-ray, have an ultrasound of his heart, and/or examination of his throat to look for laryngeal paralysis. Hope he gets better soon!

Gizmo needs to see a vet right away, as it is a medical emergency that he's having bad seizures and a hard time breathing. He needs medical attention now for the seizures, which can be caused by tumors, low blood sugar, liver failure, kidney disease, or Cushing's disease among other causes. There is nothing you can do at home to treat him for his seizures, please take him into a vet immediately. If Gizmo seizures again before you can seek vet care: - Don't put your hands near his mouth - Keep some rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle to spray on the pads of the feet for cooling - Monitor him at all times during the seizure to ensure that he cannot hurt himself by crashing into furniture, etc - If the seizure continues for more than 5 minutes, seek emergency care immediately

This is very concerning, especially in a young dog like Baby Girl. A seizure is possible, although typically stiffness or convulsions are seen and it usually takes awhile to recover from a seizure. A syncopal episode is another possibility - this occurs when there is an arrhythmia or other heart problem that causes fainting. I would recommend seeing a veterinarian right away - they can listen to her heart and may recommend taking an x-ray or checking blood work. Seizures or heart disease in a young dog can be fatal.

I'd be concerned this could be related to heart disease or a respiratory problem like a collapsing trachea. This is not normal at all, you need to have Pugsley seen by a vet in the morning. Keep him calm.

Hello. I am so sorry about poor Monty. He does need to see a veterinarian as soon as possible to rule out the various causes of his symptoms. These could be seizures, but it can also be a condition called syncope that would indicate that there may be a pretty serious heart problem going on. Other than protecting him the best you can when he collapses, there really is not much you can do at home. I do hope you can have him seen soon. Please take her to your nearest emergency clinic - cluster seizures can progress to a life threatening status epilepticus if not treated in time and can be very difficult to manage. Have a quick look to see if she may have ingested anything toxic - slug pellets, mouldy food, chocolate etc

No, this is not normal and may indicate she is having trouble moving enough air and oxygen around. I strongly recommend you contact your vets office and advise them of her progress, it is likely she requires additional treatment in order to stabilise her condition and may require a blood transfusion if very severely anemic
