Severe, persistent vomiting should be assessed by a vet (especially if vomiting water for more than 12-18hours due to a risk of dehydration). It is possible he may have swallowed something while he was roaming which may have caused an obstruction or irritation. Given it happened within hours of coming home it is unlikely to be anything he contracted in the shelter

I would give him a few more days to see if he returns to normal, and if he doesn't, I would take him into the vet for an exam. Sometimes, a medical illness such as an infection or injury can cause a dog to act differently from normal, and it would be good to rule that out if he's not back to himself in another couple of days.

Sounds like Strawberry may have become ill or injured while she was gone. It is always best to bring your dog to the vet ASAP after they've been lost for a while to check for any internal or external injuries or illnesses that could be making them sick.

Poor Hoonie. Getting groomed and seeing the vet can be stressful. Keep an eye on him tonight, and offer him some boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice. If he doesn’t eat this or he’s still acting differently in the morning, then I would have him seen by a vet. I hope this helps!
