My dog's eye is red with clear discharge for 2 weeks. Should I worry?

However, there are some other diseases that really need a very thorough evaluation of the eye to diagnose. I think that if he has not improved on the current therapy, it may be a good idea to check in with your veterinarian. If they are concerned based on their knowledge of his case, they could consider having you consult with a veterinary ophthalmologist. This just looks like an area of inflammation in the conjunctiva. It may have developed from something irritating in the eye. At this point it’s nothing to be overly concerned about. Please check it daily, it should improve and go away in a few days. If it starts to look worse then certainly a veterinary exam is indicated. It could be secondary to an infection, allergy, or irritant. You could try an eye lubricant, such as GenTeal drops, and see if that helps. Otherwise, he should be examined by a vet to determine the cause and treat.

Moo is adorable, but his eyes certainly seem uncomfortable given his squinting! Squinting is a sign of eye pain in dogs. Coupled with the yellow/green discharge, it is concerning that he may have an eye infection, corneal ulcer or uveitis (inflammation within the eyes). Allergies may be contributing, but the yellow/green discharge makes me suspicious that there is another issue present. If his eyes are itchy at all, make sure that Moo wears an e-collar (cone) until you can take him to the vet today or tomorrow to prevent further eye injury. I hope that all goes well!

At least in these pictures, his cornea appears affected. I highly recommend that you have him evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. The white and yellow goo is just normal secretions from the glands surrounding the eyelid and are not overly concerning to me. I agree that the eye doesn't seem very swollen or red. Overall, this condition is mild and indicates that there is inflammation of the eye and/or conjunctiva (the pink/red tissue surrounding the eye). I usually see these cases of mild inflammation when something has scratched the surface of the eye or something like dirt or grass gets inside the eyelid. Given this, I think the saline flush and warm compress are both good things to do right now. Flush the eye with saline for one minute and try to flush inside the eyelid. Dogs (especially Malinois) usually hate this, so you're going to need some help. I recommend having one person get a good hold of Koda's body, while the other person holds the head and flushes the eye. Repeat the flush twice a day as needed. The flush time can be reduced to 20 seconds if the eye is showing signs of improvement. You can continue the warm compress three times a day. This should heal within a week. If it gets worse or does not get better after a week, then she should go to the vet, because there may be an infection.

The redness and discharge that you are seeing in Tea's eye could be due to a corneal ulcer/abrasion or underlying allergies. However, I would expect allergy issues to affect both eyes. At this point, I would recommend taking Tea to her vet for an exam and to have her eyes assessed for the presence of a corneal ulcer so that any issue can be treated appropriately. I don't know which eye drops you have been using at this point, so I can't speak to the efficacy or safety of this medication. Always speak with Tea's vet before starting any medication, particularly eye medications. Some eye medications can make issues worse when used incorrectly. I hope that all goes well!
