My dog has red bumps and is throwing up. Is this an emergency?

I see what you mean about the bumps on Lola! It looks like she could have hives, and that can be caused by an allergic reaction. I do recommend a visit to the ER vet now, as allergic reactions can quickly progress and cause serious problems such as respiratory distress. It's best she is treated now to prevent this from happening, so yes, please take her to an ER vet. Best of luck!

This is probably an allergic reaction due to an insect bite or a plant outside. those reactions tend to resolve within 48 hours without treatment. if the swelling, itchiness or vomiting do not resolve or if your dog is lethargic, take her to the vet in order to get an antihistamine injection.

It sounds like there may be more than 1 thing going on. The vomiting may just be an upset stomach if he ate something he wasn't supposed to but it can also be pancreatitis/foreign body/etc. The red thing on his chest may be a growth, hotspot, or something else but without seeing him it is hard to say. I would try to take him to the veterinarian today or tomorrow (if your veterinarian is open). His urinating when he is excited can be hormones but also urinary tract infection and even prostatitis. I am sorry Brie is not feeling well. I would recommend taking her to a vet to have the lumps examined closer. A vet can place a small needle into the mass and look at the cells under a microscope to determine what the masses are. Masses can range from cyst, abscesses or even cancerous so they should always be checked out. Also since Brie is vomiting it would be best for her to have an exam and maybe even abdominal x-rays to determine why she is vomiting. I am so sorry Pretty Girl is going through this. On her belly it looks like a little skin infection but on her side it looks like hives. If this just started today I would take her to an emergency veterinarian for a possible allergic reaction. If this has been going on for a few days call your regular veterinarian tomorrow. If you wait then during the night if the bumps that look like hives get worse, her face swells or she has difficulty breathing then take her to an emergency veterinarian asap. These lumps are not typical of a flea allergy dermatitis. That typically is just a superficial rash with itching, hair loss, scabs, etc. These lumps are concerning. Your pet may have developed abscesses which are deeper infections that form pockets of pus or infectious fluid. This is worth a trip to the vet for a recheck. I do not feel that it is a life threatening emergency, but it should be addressed by your veterinarian as soon as regular business hours resume. Your pet may need prescription antibiotics, the lumps may need to be aspirated or checked with a needle and if they are full of pus, they should be drained. Yes, it looks like a folliculitis but in these cases mites infection is always in differential.). Disinfection may be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. Buster collar may be useful as well to avoid any licking (if any). At this stage vomiting seems completely unrelated, and I would recommend to approach it by withholding food for the next 8-12 hours and then start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. If the signs persist a check up would be ideal though.
