Is it normal for my dog to pee small amounts frequently on walks?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! I do not think the omegas have anything to do with the urinating. My first concern with going that much would be a urinary tract infection. Kidney disease and diabetes can also cause increased urination. There may have been a recent dog walking the same path and Birdie may have been marking. Without seeing her it’s hard to say. To be sure I recommend taking Birdie to a vet for an exam and to test her urine for problems. You could also continue to monitor her. If she continues to urinate frequently at home, you notice a change in her appetite, drinking habits, or lethargy then I would see a vet. Good luck and kisses to Birdie!

I recommend that you have Bory evaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. Further diagnostics would include abdominal imaging and lab work. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Puppies do urinate more frequently than adults. If this is a change in urination than it is not normal. If she is having small frequent accidents in the house and going frequently outside with straining and small amount that is not normal. If it is larger amounts in the house if could be a lapse in house training. If the above applies of increased frequency, urgency and straining Gracy may have a UTI. I recommend having her seen by your Vet and bringing a urine sample to have it checked for bacteria. We treat UTIs with antibiotics. I hope this helps and I wish Gracy a speedy recovery!

Hello, and thanks for your question. If Bell is only doing this behavior when she goes outside to urinate, then it is likely normal marking behavior. However, if it's a change and she's asking to go outside more frequently than usual, or having accidents in the house soon after urinating outside, then that may be a symptom of a urinary tract infection and should see the vet. Hi there and thanks for your question. I'm sorry Buddy is having this issue. If he is not neutered, it may be related to a prostate issue. Neutering will help this quite a bit if he is not neutered. Otherwise, if he is an older dog, he may be yelping due to arthritis in his joints as he stands to urinate. This would also help explain his disinterest in walks. I hope this helps!

The best way to do this is by increasing the frequency of the walks and when Bogo finally goes outside, you should praise her and give her a treat so that she associates doing it outside with something positive. She will learn that this is the correct thing but it will take time and patience. Best of luck!
