My dog yelps when peeing, goes rarely, and avoids walks. Why?

I am sorry to hear that! Urinating in the house can be from both medical and behavioral causes. While terriers can be notorious for being hard to house train, the fact that Bailey is yelping when you touch her back is concerning. Back problems are also common in daushunds and I would hate for her to be in any pain. I would recommend taking a urine sample to your vet and having it evaluated for infections/stones/other as well as having Bailey looked at for back pain. I hope this helps!

If Bud isn't have urinary accidents, asking to go out more to pee, showing signs of urgency then he is likely "saving" up his urine to mark. He isn't neutered and is reaching maturity. It sounds like your vet did all the right things. You could do a urine culture as a double check for an infection (although that would be very uncommon in an adult male dog). I would be starting to get concerned about a tumor within the penis or possibly a neuromuscular issue preventing normal urine flow. If your vet is out of ideas (as I am), the next step would be going to a specialist, probably an internist.

If he is so painful that he is unwilling or unable to walk he really must be seen by a vet for urgent pain relief and full diagnosis of the injury. Please arrange a vet visit for assessment as soon as possible to ease his discomfort and prevent any further complications

I recommend to have Banjo examined by the veterinarian. This behavior sounds like something is hurting him though high anxiety could also look like this. The problem is that Banjo cannot talk and tell you what he is feeling so you need to have him examined to make sure it's not pain. Pain could be anywhere in his body but common conditions include a disc problem in the neck/spine, a pinched nerve or pancreatitis. After the physical exam, the doctor will have a better idea of what to do next. I hope this helps.

It's possible that he has some back or neck pain. This is one of the more common causes of sudden yelps of pain that don't seem related to anything specific. It does sound like Oreo is likely having some pain, so I would recommend that you take him in to see your veterinarian today if at all possible. They will do a physical exam and determine whether he's painful and try to localize the cause better. They can send him with some medications to make him more comfortable and may recommend other treatments as well (acupuncture, therapeutic laser, etc). Until you can get him in to see your vet, avoid giving him any over the counter human pain medication, as there is not a safe option to use and giving something like aspirin at home will limit the choices your vet has to treat his pain when you take him in. Also, until you can get him in for an exam, keep him exercise restricted; don't take him on walks, don't encourage "tug or war," chasing a ball, or other play. I hope that helps you! Hi, sorry to hear Oly isn't feeling well. There is a chance he can have a urinary tract infection, which will cause a dog to urinate frequently and in small amounts. This can be treated by a vet with antibiotics. I recommend bringing him to see a vet if these symptoms persist. There is no home remedy you can do for this. It is not an emergency unless he is not urinating or seems to be in pain. I suggest taking him to the vet tomorrow and bringing a urine sample if possible, or not allowing him to urinate at least an hour or so before the appointment so they can get a sample.
