My dog is having pee accidents. Could it be related to past illness?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Female | 5 years and 4 months old | 11 lbs

Several months ago my dog ate a few herbal cold pills with xtitol in it but must have not been enough to be toxic she was fine never took her to vet Then about 2 months ago dog started throwing up bile daily vet put her on Pepcid she was on it for a month before she could be taken off and she hasn’t been sick in weeks but now she has been having pee accidents in the house so I am wondering could all this be tied back to this medicine from months ago or is this separate issues? thank u

This would be a separate issue. Xylitol poisoning occurs within 15-30 minutes of ingestion. I suspect that Kiwi having pee accidents in the house may be caused by a UTI or bladder stones. I'd take her into the vet today to have this checked out. Best of luck.
