Can I give my sick dog Pedialyte if she's not eating or drinking?

Yes, pedialyte is safe for use in dogs. Common causes of diarrhea in dogs include food intolerance or allergies, intestinal parasites, dietary indiscretion, bacterial or viral infection, stress colitis, autoimmune disease, systemic disease (liver, kidney, pancreas, diabetes), among others. You can withhold food for 12-24 hours, and then start her back on small amounts of her normal food, or you can give her boiled chicken breast, cooked white rice, or cooked eggs. However, if the diarrhea continues for another 24 hours, or if Jade start vomiting or does not seem interested in eating, she should be evaluated by a veterinarian. The vet may recommend diagnostics like an internal parasite screen or bloodwork to try to figure out what is going on.

She might have eaten something spoiled that is causing this, maybe she is suffering from a gastrointestinal infection as a result. withhold food for 12 hours then offer Spirit boiled boneless chicken and rice every 6 hours in small portions. if she is eating and not vomiting, continue with this diet for 2 days. After 2 days, you can put her back gradually on her normal food. If she continues vomiting or is not eating after the 12 hours withholding food, take her to the vet to get treatment.

You may try offering a small amount (1/8 of a cup) several times daily. Vomiting can be rapidly dehydrating in young small puppies, so it can be hard to correct dehydration alone with oral liquids. I would keep decreasing the amount of beef broth you put into her food until she is eating the dog food alone. She really should not be having it, so it's best to try to wean her off of it. Poor guy. Yes you sure can give him Pedialyte but only the non-flavored kind diluted 50:50 with water. You can use a syringe or small turkey baster to given it to him if he doesn't take it readily. You can give him as much as he will take readily (probably around 20cc's) and offer it every 4 hrs or so. Poor guy I hope Oliver feels better soon. Take care.
