My 8-month dog got parvo shot at 6 months. Does he need a booster?

Normally, we want to make sure that the booster vaccine is given within 4-6 weeks of the original vaccine. 3-4 weeks is best. So as long as you get Chica in to the vet sometime in the next few days, you should be fine. If you go much longer than that, your veterinarian may recommend doing another booster in 3-4 weeks to make sure that she develops an appropriate immune response.

Because they were spaced so far apart, I would say no, these vaccines are not enough to protect her from parvo. You will have to start the vaccine schedule over again, and I would count this vaccine given three days ago as the initial vaccine. Because she is older, she will only need one more vaccine given four weeks after this first one to be protected from parvo. No, Royal does not need to start his vaccines from the beginning. Because he got his second round when he was four months old, his immune system was developed enough and he will have low maternal antibodies that will enable protect. Dogs do need a booster shot one year after the first, and Royal should therefore get another booster of the vaccines by the time he is 16 months old.

It would be safer to give Mocha another dose of parvo vaccine, about 3-4 weeks after the one she just had. That will make sure that she is fully protected and she is not any danger for the new puppy.

Great question! Cane will need to go back four weeks after getting his rabies shot for a booster. As for the combo shot, he will need to return four weeks after that initial shot to get a booster. Once he gets both of those boosters, then he will need to return in a year for another booster. The Bordatella and Lepto will both need to be booster in a year after the initial shot. Simba will likely need booster vaccines 3-4 weeks from when he got the last set of vaccines. In the meantime, take care to keep him away from any unvaccinated dogs, and away from places like dog parks (where unvaccinated dogs may go) until he has completed his series of puppy vaccinations.
