Why is my dog's poop orange? Should I be worried about the color?

I'm really glad to hear that Mugi is still eating and acting normally! Stool color can change with any different food (not even just orange foods) as a result of how the bile and gut bacteria shift in response. I definitely understand your concern because finding stool with orange and greenish coloration can seem a bit disconcerting. I am not sure if by "orange piece" you mean a piece of the fruit orange or something else. If it was a piece of orange, then I would not worry. However if it was something solid and orange colored, it should come out with the stool within two days. If not, and if your dog gets diarrhea and starts to vomit, you need to take Coco to a vet for an exam as it could have caused an intestinal blockage.

It looks like some kind of seed she may be eating. I would observe her carefully when she is outside and make sure she isn't unsupervised. I would get her seen by your vet and take them a sample of this so they can hopefully identify what it is. If the diarrhea accompanies this in her stool I also suspect the two are related.

Organge poops are concerning for possible liver disease (the yellow colour suggests the liver is not working as well), and diarrhea is concerning as well. Not wanting to eat like normal is also a sign of not feeling well. You can try him on a bland diet of boiled/boneless/skinless chicken breasts and boiled rice to see if it is just a gastritis that has thrown off his gut, otherwise I would suggest getting bloodwork done to see if his liver is OK. Hello. An orange stool could be an indication of hemolysis ( destruction of RBCs ) or a possible gallbladder problem, or just the dye from something ingested. The mucous is usually a reaction to some irritation in the colon. If everything seems perfectly normal in how Mille acts & eats, you might just feed her a very bland diet ( 25% boiled chicken & 75% plain white rice ) for a couple of meals. If her stool self-corrects, then it was just something she got into. If it persists, you will need to have your veterinarian examine her to make sure all is OK.
