My dog hasn't pooped since this morning. Is this normal for dogs?

If Romeo has had recent excessive stool production, it may be normal to have less for a day or two. It's fine for a dog to go a day without pooping, especially with that history. If he begins to strain unproductively, become painful, uninterested in food, or vomiting, contact your veterinarian.

Excellent question. Some pets can go 48 hours before they have a bowel movement and this can be completely normal, as long as you don't notice your dog straining to defecate. If you see your pet straining to defecate, that can indicate your pet is constipated, and he should then be seen by your veterinarian as soon as possible to relieve this issue. I wouldn't be too concerned about not passing stool unless Bowie goes more than 24 hours without going, or seems in distress/ill (trying to go but can't, vomiting, not eating or drinking, lethargic, etc.) A play session and some running around may help encourage his bowels to get moving as well!

Yes, this sounds perfectly normal. Many dogs only have a bowel movement once a day and some occasionally skip a day between bowel movements. As long as Buddy is eating, drinking and acting normally without straining to have a bowel movement, there is likely no reason for concern. :-)

I don't think you need to worry. It can be normal for a dog to poop every 1-2 days, not necessarily daily. If his stools are formed, that is normal. If they are occasionally a little soft, that can be normal. If they are soft serve texture or softer than that over 50% of the time, I would recommend that you talk to your vet about it. Overall it sounds like Nori is ok! The carrots and zucchini are a fine addition to his balanced dog food, and its ok that he doesn't like pumpkin. I hope that information helps you! Most dogs only have one bowel movement per day and some only have a bowel movement every other day. As long as a dog is eating, drinking and acting normally, and seems to be having a normal bowel movement without straining, I don’t worry. As puppies grow, their guts mature. Additionally, different diets have different fiber content. Both of these changes can change the frequency of bowel movements. It sounds as though Harley’s bowel movement frequency is completely normal!

IF Kenzo is eating,drinking and acting normal I would not be to concerned if he has not defecated. Sometimes if dogs have diarrhea it will take a few days for them to have normal stool. However, if he is lethargic, vomiting or not eating I would recommend taking him to a vet because not defecating can be a sign of obstruction. If Kenzo is having diarrhea I would also recommend taking him to the vet to determine the cause. In younger dogs parasites, virus and even indigestion can cause diarrhea. I hope he feels better soon
