Forgot to give dog 12-hour medicine. When should I give the next dose?

Teddy will likely be fine. Plan on giving him the next dose at 11am tomorrow morning to get him back in schedule. Watch him closely for vomiting, diarrhea or not eating well. I hope this is helpful and please feel free to post any additional questions.

You can give a dose now an then match the next dose for the same time 12 hours later (ie: 9am/9pm). And then tomorrow go back to the 7am/7pm schedule if that is what works best for you. Dosing should be at least 8 hours apart. Hope this answers your question. Best wishes.

If you missed one dose on the second day, or any doses in the future, never increase the next dose beyond what your vet has indicated on the label. Instead just continue with the next a.m. dosage and so on.

Not to worry - this type of issue happens quite frequently. At this point, I think your best bet is to give Tater-Tot her 11pm enalapril dose early around 8-9pm, and then return her to her normal 11am/11pm schedule tomorrow. Do not give a double dose! If she seems to show signs of congestive heart failure, such as difficulty breathing, trouble settling down, or exercise intolerance, it is worth taking her to a vet urgently. Fortunately congestive heart failure is rarely dramatically exacerbated after missing one dose of medication. I hope this helps and that all goes well!

Hello. The easiest thing to do is split the difference for 1 dose. Give the dose tomorrow morning at 5:30 am daylight savings time, & if the 6/6 time works for you, give the second dose at 6 pm daylight savings time & just follow through from there. It is close enough you can get to your normal routine. If his twice a day dose is due at 9 you can give it tonight then start up once a day tomorrow. Whether you do once a in the morning it evening it does not matter, just stick to the time frame
