My dog missed a dose of medicine. Should I give extra or extend days?

It is best to give the next dose at his regularly scheduled time unless the dose you just gave was very close to it. 8-10 hours apart should be fine to get him back on his regular medical schedule. If he has any issues, or if you are concerned about the meds you are giving, it is best to speak with his treating veterinarian for more information.

If you mean you have only been giving it once daily instead of twice daily then go ahead and give your pm dose tonight and tomorrow start your twice a day dosing as per the label (1 with breakfast and 1 with dinner). Just make sure you give with food as doxycycline can cause tummy upset. It is okay you have only missed a few days and will get back on track tomorrow. If you do not remember whether you gave your dog his pill this morning, I suggest you just skip that and give Bobby his next pill this evening. You may want to get a weekly pill box into which you put a weeks worth of pills divided up for every day, so you can see which you gave and which not. It helps me remember, too.

I recommend deworming at 10 day intervals. It, of course, depends on the medications, but if you mixed a second dose I would recommend adjusting the remaining doses at the correct interval originally prescribed.
