What causes itchy pink rashes on my Golden Retriever puppy's face?

It looks to me like the areas may be related on Max's head. Based on how they look and the fact that they appear irritated I would be suspicious of either a mite infection or ringworm (which is a fungal infection that he can give to you). A veterinarian will preform a test called a skin scrape to determine if mites are present. Treatment is easy in most pets. Ringworm diagnosis requires a fungal culture and is generally easy to clear up but needs a lot of environmental clean up. Bacterial infection is likely also present and is a secondary problem. Take Max into see the veterinarian who will be able to determine the cause and get Max started on treatment. Best of luck!

It does appear that this is more a problem with the skin around the eyes rather than the eye itself. This is commonly seen with demodex (https://mobile.petcoach.co/amp/article/demodectic-mange) infestations in juvenile dogs. It is less common with older dogs and is more of a concern with older dogs. In a puppy, these infestations will resolve on their own after a couple of months. Some require treatment with an antiparasitic. If Bear is an adult, then he will need treatment. It's also possible that this is infected by yeast or bacteria, so it's best to have a vet evaluate him to make a diagnosis. For now, it's good to flush the area with saline for 1-2 minutes three times a day. If it is getting worse, then he probably needs professional treatment to keep it from getting too bad. I would recommend to take King to see the vet. Multiple lesions like this can signify autoimmune conditions. Typically allergies don't show up on the nose but I wouldn't say its impossible. The doctor will do a physical exam and may recommend a few diagnostics to try to determine the cause. I hope this helps to point you in the right direction.

I suspect this could be secondary to demodex, which is a type of skin mite. There is likely also a bacterial skin infection that needs to be treated due to the potential primary mite infection. This is actually very common in puppies. It can be from a bug bite or just not cleaning and grooming well after urinating since so young. It may pop and pus will likely come out. The best thing to do is clean it with soap and water and apply neosporin. If more occur or it does not dry up and go away then see your vet for medication. Most puppies actually outgrow this, so hang in there.

It really comes down to figuring out what is causing his allergies so that they can be treated or the specific allergen avoided. A secondary infection is likely and also needs to be addressed. There are medications such as Apoquel or prednisone which may help with the itch. 

 There are many things that can cause allergies though in most cases they can be broken down into 3 big categories: flea, food and environmental allergies. 

Allergies are usually worked up in a stepwise fashion starting with flea allergies as this is the easiest and cheapest to take care of. If not on a flea preventative, then it would be a good idea to get started on one. If already on one then it would be a good idea to change to something else (there are many new products out in the market). 

If not improved in 1-3 months then it is time to move on and check for food allergies by switching to a novel diet (new protein and new carbohydrate). If that does not seem to be the issue then you are left out having to check for environmental allergies which require blood and/or skin tests.

 Allergies can be very frustrating to deal with at first but so rewarding at the end when we are able to treat them effectively!

There are some juvenile skin diseases we can see in puppies that can cause a similar appearance to what you are noting, such as Demodectic mange or chronic bacterial/yeast infections. A diagnosis is typically achieved through a skin scrape (to look for Demodex mites) and a skin cytology to look for bacteria or yeast. If all of these diseases are ruled out and Django does not respond to typical treatment (topical medicated shampoos, parasite preventatives, antibiotics, etc.) then additional diagnostics such as a biopsy may be recommended. I would recommend having Django evaluated by his veterinarian if this has been going on for some time and especially if it is worsening.
