My dog inhaled bug spray and had a sneezing fit. What should I do?

For that reason, Chigger may be just fine. I would recommend that you watch him closely and if he does show symptoms such as decreased appetite, lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea and/or discomfort have him evaluated by a veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. We can't even be sure that this particular bug even contacted the chemical. To be safe you can always rinse his mouth out well with water and wash his face. Have a great day!

Aerosols can contain hydrocarbons which are volatile compounds that can cause stomach upset. If you think she ingested a large amount of the spray, I would take her to the vet now just in case. Otherwise, I would monitor her for any vomiting or diarrhea. If this happens, I would contact your vet at that point. If mild diarrhea is seen, you can try fasting her for about 12 hours, then start offering small frequent meals of a bland diet such as boiled chicken and rice. As long as he is asymptomatic, there is no cause for concern. Monitor for lethargy, restlessness, hyperactivity, panting, increased heart rate or tremors. You did the absolute right thing by bathing Luna as quickly as you did! Since she is no longer showing any symptoms she should be fine. Keep a close eye on her for the rest of the day in case anything changes. Things to look out for are itchy/red/inflamed skin and any change in her breathing pattern (in case she breathed in any of the spray). If she is still acting normal over the next few hours you shouldn't have anything to worry about. If you do notice any of these symptoms you should bring Luna in to the vet to be checked out.
