My puppy was hit by a car, spitting blood, and won't move. What do I do?

He should be seen by a vet right away. Even though he is moving all of his extremities well, he may have internal injuries that need treatment. He could have a slow bleed, rupture of an organ, etc. Medical attention is very important.

I would strongly urge you to get Rosco in to be seen immediately by a veterinarian so that the most appropriate diagnostic and treatment recommendations can be made. He may have an internal bleed, trauma to his kidneys, airway damage, etc. that could progress and worsen leading to death. If you can get him in right away, I would do so so that he has the best chance possible to pull through.

Poor Baby! If you believe her leg is broken than you should restrict her activity and keep her quiet until she can be seen by a vet. As for the bleeding, she may have some internal injuries from whatever cause her leg injury. Hopefully, with rest the bleeding will stop. Your vet can do a complete physical examination to determine the extent of her injuries and take xrays, if needed, to determine the best way to treat. If there is an emergency vet open than it would be a good idea to have her seen right away, especially if she seems to be in a lot if pain.

You'll want to confine him to a small area to minimize any further damage. Be sure to offer him plenty of fresh drinking. To help alleviate any pressure to the area when loading him into the car, wrap a towel under the abdomen and carry the back end with a towel. Be sure to watch for and notate any swelling or changes in the spine, or legs. Be sure to get in to se your doctor as soon as possible.

It sounds like your dog is likely in extreme pain, and he needs veterinary attention immediately. He may have fractures, internal injuries and bleeding, and may even have neurological issues from being hit by the car. If you mean that he is unable to urinate, that is a medical emergency, and requires immediate veterinary care. Your vet will assess him and recommend appropriate treatment, which will likely include pain medication, imaging and possibly surgical repair. If Little is doing as poorly as you describe, this is a medical emergency and she needs to see a vet right away. She could be seriously injured and in pain, and it's concerning that she won't move and has trouble walking. There is nothing you can do for her at home, she has to have veterinary care right away. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.
