My dog is injured, not moving, and drooling. Is it an emergency?

I am so sorry to hear that your pet Lupa is in such dire need of medical care it seems. She is very ill and the fact that she isn't moving is very concerning. There isn't anything you can do unfortunately in the home to help her, she needs to be seen by a vet in your area right away. She could have just about anything going on internally to cause this including: severe anemia, heart disease, or even shock just to name a few. Pudder sounds like she may have suffered severe internal injuries from this fall, and I would consider her symptoms a medical emergency. She needs to see a vet now. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. I sam so sorry that she’s not doing well. From what you describe, I’m very concerned about her and you need to seek emergency veterinary care immediately. Call your vet’s office even if they are closed—they likely have a recording for either how to contact the vet in case of an emergency, or information for the nearest vet clinic. There are many possible causes for what’s going on, but it sounds like at the very least she needs some IV fluids and some lab work and possible X-rays may be needed. I am so sorry there isn’t something I can suggest you do for her at home at this point, but if she’s just lying there, she seems cold, and her breathing is labored, you have got to get her to a vet. Poor pup! This sounds like a potentially serious problem, so I would recommend taking him to an emergency clinic today to be seen. He may have a neurologic problem of some kind, may have injured himself somehow, or may have ingested something toxic. The ER veterinarian can do a completely neurologic exam and may recommend blood work, x-rays, or other testing if needed to help figure out what's wrong. If you're not sure where to go, try calling your regular vet's office - their voicemail message should have contact information for your nearest ER or an on-call doctor for emergencies.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Moo. I recommend that she sees an emergency veterinarian today. It doesn't sound like she is feeling well. Small breed dogs can be prone to neck and/or back pain which can be excruciating to them. These dogs will commonly cry when picked up. The veterinarian will examine her and try to determine the source of her pain. She may also need bloodwork and possibly x-rays. From there, treatment can be started. In the meantime, do not give any over-the-counter pain medications as these can be toxic to dogs. I hope this information helps!

It's hard to advise you with this small amount of information, but if Bob is not moving or responding to commands or treats, I would take him in to your nearest emergency veterinary clinic for evaluation. They will check him out, and likely run blood work as a starting point.
