My dog has a hard lump near his waist post-ACL surgery. Is it serious?

It is possible that he has developed a hernia again and the concern would be that it could be causing him pain and discomfort, especially if he did not like it touched. The other possibility is a seroma which is an accumulation of fluid at the incision site though that seems less likely. I recommend that you have Columbus evaluated by a veterinarian perhaps tomorrow when your veterinarian opens again. If at some point he develops loss of appetite, vomiting or lethargy, have him evaluated sooner. Good luck with your boy!

This could be inflammation of the muscle but rarely an abscess can form at the site of an injection. As long as Cookie is otherwise completely normal she should be ok to wait until tomorrow to she her veterinarian.

That looks like it may be a growth or an abscess. At his age, it is best to have your vet check the area and aspirate some cells to see if it is pus for an abscess or cells for a growth. From there, you can tell if medication or surgery is indicated. If it does not bother him and every thing else is normal, then it does not need to be seen as an emergency basis.

As long as Zoe isn't limping (which means she is in pain) and the swelling doesn't get any bigger, you can wait until Monday. If she starts limping and/or the swelling gets bigger, then you will need to take her into the ER vet. Best of luck.

As Beau will already be under anesthesia, which is usually the bulk of the cost of the procedure, it may be wise to have the lumps removed at the same time. Your vet can also take a fine needle aspirate, or a small sample of cells, if you elect not to have the lumps removed completely. I hope all goes well for Beau on Thursday!

You can take him to your vet tomorrow, it's not an emergency. this lump needs to be checked and analysed as there are many conditions and types of tumors that could look like that. take him to the vet, they will perform a fine needle aspiration on the growth and send it to the lab for analysis. when the result comes, the vet will advise what needs to be done according to the diagnosis.

In most cases this would be fluid swelling under the skin and there is no need to remove it. Considering she is otherwise normal and is not sensitive to it, it will be fine to just monitor it for now. If it happens to get very big (larger than a baseball), or she is having other issues, then I'd recommend a visit to the vet. Otherwise, it should start to go down within two weeks.
