Can I add a spoonful of gravy to my dog's dry food? Is it safe?

Yes you can mix dog foods if you like. Just remember that any sudden switches can cause a stomach upset in pets so mixing the foods initially during the first week is recommended. However if you want to do the food mix long term that is perfectly fine. I don't typically recommend putting dog gravy on the food because it is quite fatty and can cause Gohan to become quite obese. Most pets do just fine with just their regular dog kibble and an occasional treat 2 times a week or less. I hope this helps!

Wet food can stick to the teeth more which can cause dental disease or may worsen current dental disease so you may want to stick to just the hard kibble unless your veterinarian has recommended extra water be added to his diet due to a medical condition (such as kidney disease for example).

If your dogs won't eat this food well I would try a different brand or try adding water to the dry food or even add a tablespoon of canned food with water. Adding human foods is a slippery slope. I would not add chicken soup to her food as there is a lot of salt in the broth. You can add canned dog food to her diet for variety. I recommend using the same brand as the dry dog food you are feeding. Safe human foods are boiled chicken and boiled beef but canned dog food has the proper balance of vitamins and minerals. Hello, given that it has garlic in there, it would not be safe to give to your dog. Garlic in certain amounts can cause GI upset in small amounts, but in severe amounts it can also cause anemia. Additionally, your dog's food should be well balanced if it is certified to meet the AAFCO standards. This should be indicated in the label of the bag of dog food. Hope this helps and best of luck.
