Can I add a spoonful of gravy to my dog's dry food? Is it safe?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Female | spayed

I understand the implication of giving my dog salt. However, is it not reasonable for me to add a tea spoon of granulated gravy to my dogs dry mix food? She is a 5 years old, a large labradoodle, has regular exercises and a very fit dog.

I do not recommend supplementing a complete & balanced dog food with anything. The granulated gravy may add flavor, but it's not adding any nutritional value for Bailey. However, as long as you keep fresh water out all the time, and Bailey has no underlying health conditions which would require food modifications, it's not a big deal and is likely fine to continue.
