Why is my dog flinching and swaying? Could she have eaten something?

Sorry we couldn't get to your question earlier! Hopefully Carlos is back to normal now. Marijuana toxicosis can have a variety of signs based on how much was ingested and if it was an "edible." It does sound strange. If he continues the behavior after waking up, then evaluation by a vet is indicated. I would be concerned about possible neurologic disease, hypoglycemia, or heart or lung disease.

It could also be a neurological problem or other toxicity. Monitor her and if symptoms persist or worsen, consider a physical exam with your veterinarian or at the nearest veterinary ER.

This sounds very serious unfortunately. The first thing that comes to mind is if she got in to a toxin or medication. I would take her to the ER right away and if she did get in to something, take that with you. She will need immediate care

I would recommend bringing her to a veterinarian right away. I am unsure how long she was out but her behavior is very abnormal for her age. I am worried that she ingested something toxic or was traumatically injured. It is hard for me to discern without a physical exam but I would recommend an exam, some bloodwork and maybe even some radiographs depending.

Poor Shaggy. It sounds like it could be a few possible things. A toxin? Got in to a medication? Marijuana? Low blood sugar? Some other neurologic condition. Hard to say. But this could be serious. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Kimber! It sounds like Kimber ate something toxic. Her symptoms sound very suspicious for Marijuana toxicity. Since she is acting neurologic she should be seen by a Vet right away. We treat marijuana toxicity all the time in the emergency room. If she could have had access to that or any other drugs just be honest with the Vet. They are there to help and it will allow for the best treatment for Kimber! Poor girl. These symptoms are highly suggestive of a toxin or drug intoxication. If this has been going on for more than 15-20 minutes duration, then I would highly recommend taking Bella Rose in to your local vet for a proper exam, diagnostic testing to hopefully pinpoint the problem, and treatment to help stabilize her condition. IF she did ingest a toxin, then the vet wil lhave to detox her quickly to help prevent any permanent damage on her organ systems, and also to prevent further absorption of the toxin in her gut. Another possible cause for these symptoms is a pyometra (spontaneous uterine infection). This can happen at any time in non-spayed female dogs and leads to septicemia which can cuase similar symptoms invvolved in a toxin ingestion. Tihs is also considered to be a serious condition and should be treated for as quicikly as possible by your vet. I hope that your fur baby Bella Rose is able to make a full and speedy recovery.
