My dog is swaying, nervous, growling at nothing, and throwing up. Is it serious?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | unspayed | 3 years and 10 months old | 90 lbs

Hi, my dog has been swaying back and forth when shes sitting down and when shes standing up. She us also acting nervous and growls at things that aren't there and she is puking.

This sounds very serious unfortunately. The first thing that comes to mind is if she got in to a toxin or medication. I would take her to the ER right away and if she did get in to something, take that with you. She will need immediate care

Hello. These are pretty alarming symptoms & warrant a veterinary visit as soon as possible. If you are sure that there are no events occurring around her to send her into such a panic, then we need to make sure there are no medical issues going on. Poor Jazzy! Her symptoms could be caused by an injury or being ill. I'm concerned by what you are describing, and I think it's something that needs to be seen by a vet now. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website. Best of luck.

It sounds as Roxi is suffering from a gastrointestinal condition, possibly an infection. it could also be due to ingestion of a foreign body material. i would recommend taking her to the vet the first chance you get, she will need to be checked first, if the vet thinks it's a simple gastrointestinal infection she will need an anti vomiting injection, antibiotics and a special food for a few days in order to get better.

My dog is growling, throwing up, and shaking. What should I do?

Dogs can sometimes get growly when they do not feel well. The question is why does she not feel well and what is making her vomit. There are numerous reasons for vomiting including ingestion of a foreign body, pancreatitis, viral or bacterial infections, liver or kidney disease, and more. I recommend a trip to your veterinarian where they can perform radiographs (x-rays) of the abdomen to check for signs of obstruction, and lab tests to rule out other causes of nausea. Difficulty walk or standing, also known as ataxia, is definitely a cause for concern. This may be caused by neurological issues or a toxin. Xhesi should be seen by a vet immediately to determine the cause and be stabilized if necessary.

My puppy is shaking and vomiting. Is this serious? What should I do?

Yes, it sounds like Wonder is painful (shaking), and not herself due to the vomiting. She may also have a fever which could make her lethargic. She is a young dog so most likely she has a stomach upset from something she ate. If she can't hold anything down you should take her to your veterinarian for treatment. She could have eaten something bad, or have something caught in her stomach or intestines. They will do an exam then most likely blood work and an X-ray if needed to find the specific reason she is sick. Then they can prescribe the appropriate treatment. This is a fairly common reason dogs get sick and usually they improve quickly. My dog is panting, drooling, and won't drink. Is this serious?

Hazel sounds like she is either nauseous, uneasy, or has been exposed to some sort of toxin. You can try to treat nausea with a drug like pepsid or famotidine to see if that helps, but her failure to calm down makes me think that something else could be at work. If she has no history of being uneasy especially, I would consider a toxin as a distinct possibility. Try to think if it's possible that she could have gotten into something inappropriate. If so, I would have her checked out by the vet for possible decontamination and supportive care.
