What can I put on my dog's face pimples if Neosporin isn't working?

Did you mean to have a picture attached to your question? If so, unfortunately there was not one attached. Puppies often get “pimples/pustules. This is usually a skin infection called puppy pyoderma. However, other problems such as a bug bite are possible as well. A Small amount of neosporin is unlikely to cause any harm at this time. Most mild Cases of pyoderma will resolve on their own or with a medicated shampo. However more significant cases need antibiotic therapy. I would recommend that you monitor the area close for any change or other pustules to appear. Hello. I would not apply any products, however you can try just washing the area well with warm water, and then drying it very well. Make sure that Palomo isn't chewing at it, and if he is get him a cone. A mild skin irritation will clear up with just lack of moisture and a bit of time. If it is getting worse it will likely need antibiotics, which you cannot get over the counter. Good luck with him!

I am sorry to hear that Love isn’t doing well. The picture looks like a possible abscess. If a veterinarian is not a possibility then I would encourage you to warm compress the area several times a day with warm water and Epsom salts if you have them. I would, however, encourage you to have her evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible. She likely needs antibiotics and it may get worse if left untreated. Nova can get pimples just like humans. It is very common in bulldogs, boxers and other breeds that have large jowls as the chin tends to stay more moist and humid. You can get some special pads from your veterinarian that are safe to use and pets that you can use to cleanse the area. Keeping her food and water bowls very clean can help. Also make sure her chew toys are cleaned on a regular basis. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

You could give him a bathe with a medicated dog shampoo and see if that helps. If not, he should be rechecked by a vet to determine the cause and treatment. It sounds like he could have a bacterial and/or yeast infection so oral medications may be necessary. If your vet is not able to diagnose the problem and treat and then you could go to another vet for a second opinion. He may need an antibiotic, antifungal, and/or an anti-inflammatory to help treat the problem.

Thanks for posting, and great pictures. I agree, this definitely looks consistent with a bacterial infection. When you see your veterinarian Saturday they will confirm and likely prescribe oral and topical medications to help resolve the bumps. In the meantime, I would not pop the bumps. Your puppy could be suffering from demodicosis (mite infection) or a fungal or bacterial skin infection. Please do not put cocout oil on the lesions, it will not work and possibly makes it worse. Please make an appointment with your veterinarian for an exam and proper treatment.
