My pit bull's eye is turning blue-grey. Is it normal for older dogs?

If the patches appear to be normal hair then I would not worry about it too much. He may be getting some gray hair which is completely normal as a dog ages. If however there are patches of hair loss or Magoo seems excessively itchy in these areas then he may be having an issue with allergies.

I would have her eye pressure checked as this can be from a cataract or she could develop glaucoma with increased pressure that can be painful. She may or may not need medication. I alway like to check changes in the eyes just to make sure it's just an aging change and doesn't need treatment. This could be just a normal pigment change or it could be something more serious. I would have your vet take a look to ensure there is no infection or other abnormalities with the eye. i hope this helps!

It is difficult to tell what might be going on in the picture - it looks like Jagger’s cornea might have pigment on it or that his pupil is much larger on one side. The eyes certainly do look different and I think it would be best to have a vet examine his eyes in person to determine what might be going on.

Hi, pigmentation of the skin can change as dogs get older and it is usually nothing to be concerned about. Unless it is something associated with itchiness or inflammation of the skin. In this case it could mean another underlying condition is present that would need to be diagnosed and treated accordingly. Hope this helps !

There is increased pigmentation (melanin) deposited on the eye. Pugs can develop pigmentary keratitis, in which a dark film develops over the eye itself. This does not cause any pain and unfortunately there is nothing you can do to make this go away or slow down the progression. If the eye becomes irritated, you can use steroid drops. Something that a vet would need to prescribe Dexter after examining him. I hope this helps! Thank you for submitting your question regarding Kalua. This is a normal pigment change that some dogs will develop. Some will get it on the outer edges of the eyes as well. If he starts showing signs of pain such as squinting or tearing or if the pigment extends over the colored portion of his eye, then he will need to see his veterinarian.
