My dog has lines in her eyes that come and go. Should I worry?

So my dog has lines in her eyes they come and go I don't know what to do can you help?

Hello. I am sorry that Jewels isn't feeling well. If she lines across her eyes this could be many things. It could just be debris and 'eye boogers' that wipe away when you gently wipe the eye with a warm wet cloth. If they are grey/clear then this is normal and not of concern. If there is yellow or cream coloured debris she could have an infection and should be seen. If it is black and doesn't wipe away then this could be 'dry-eye' or irritation of the cornea due to various causes, and if this is present I would get her seen by a vet. If you are seeing redness, blue-ness, or if she is squinting at all then you need to get her to a vet. Good luck with Jewels.

Yes this is likely normal for her. As long as she isn't squinting that eye, rubbing it, or having green/yellow discharge from that eye then I wouldn't be concerned. Also the dark brown in her fur is normal tear staining for her breed. I hope this helps.

That could be Bailey's third eyelid, which is a normal part of the dog's eye anatomy. But it should not be out when the dog's eye is open, which indicates a problem. I'd have her seen by a vet for this.

My dog has light green eye boogers in the morning. Is it serious?

This can be due to allergies, irritation to the eye, or an infection. However if it's just seen in the morning and her eyes are not red swollen, or otherwise abnormal in appearance, then this can be normally seen. In order to tell for sure if this is a problem, a vet would need to examine the eye. If this problem is recent, or has gotten worse, then it would be best to have a vet evaluate her. If this is something that has always happened, then it's more likely to be normal. I hope that helps and all is well with Pearl.

This just looks like an area of inflammation in the conjunctiva. It may have developed from something irritating in the eye. At this point it’s nothing to be overly concerned about. Hello. I am sorry for your concerns about Shiloh's eye. Any haze over the cornea or in the eye is a great concern, as it indicates there has been some trauma or there is some ongoing disease happening in the eye. It is very important that you have Shiloh seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible, not only to prevent further & permanent damage to the eye, but to make sure he is not in pain.
