My dog's eye injury isn't healing with Oflox. Is there a stronger medicine?

I would follow the instructions - it sounds like your vet wants one medication (I'd guess Ofloxacin) to be given more frequently. Although it says every 8 hours you can plan to do it three times a day spread over waking hours. You will need to wait 10 minutes in the morning and evening to maximize absorption.

Hello, sorry to hear about Lily. Exocin is a topical antibiotic. You should aim to apply it at minimum every 6-8 hours until her recheck. If you are able to, you should apply this drops every 2 hours for the first 2 days, then every 4 hours for 5 days as recommended. Superficial ulcers take about 3-5 days to heal and you should see significant improvement in Lily's symptoms within 2-3 days. If you are not seeing improvement by day 5, then you should have a recheck with your veterinarian promptly. Best of luck and hope Lily has a speedy recovery.

Hi there! I am assuming you are using Optimmune for dry eye? If so, there is often an eye infection as well that is brewing, due to having low tears. Because of this, I strongly recommend that you see a vet sooner, rather than later, as there are likely to be additional medications that can help your dog's eyes.

Both are antibiotic ointments, so I would recommend sticking with the Isathal for now and scheduling another appointment if she's not feeling better after 24 hours. You can increase the frequency of the Isathal because extra lubrication can help with comfort. Another thing to ask your veterinarian about it placing a contact on her eye - not all vets have these in their offices, but if they do it can help a lot with comfort. Good luck to you and Jasmine. Poor Yoda. That I does look cloudy from the pictures but I can only see so much. I am assuming that TobraDex is actually Tobramycin ophthalmic antibiotic. And since you did not mention any other medications, I will also assume that this is the only medication you are using. I believe that Yoda should be taken back to the veterinarian as soon as you can. The reason being is that two days with and wait meant applied as often as you are applying should be causing this all right to almost be back to normal by now. My concern is that there may be something else that needs to be added to your treatment regimen. for instance, maybe you have a possible infection in the eye that is resistant to the Tobramycin. or maybe there is a lot of inflammation and an anti-inflammatory medication needs to be added. But I would not wait any longer to go back into the veterinarian and have them do an ophthalmic examination again. You may want to check for another corneal stain, tear test, fundic exam, etc. I hope that you guys are able to get Yoda’s Eye on the road to recovery.

Hello and thank you for the update. Please, do not use dexamethasone as it is detrimental in case of corneal damage. You can use Ciprofloxacine instead twice a day until you can get Roshni seen by your vet. There is no need to use systemic antibiotic, like Amoxicilin.
