My pug's eye is cloudy and not healing with meds. See vet again?

This could be due to an eye injury or conditions such as a corneal laceration, corneal ulcer, conjunctivitis, dry eye (also known as KCS), among many other conditions. Since Toby has not improved on his medications, I highly recommend that you have Toby reevaluated by your veterinarian for further assessment and treatment. They can attempt a different course of therapy or possibly refer you to an eye specialist. Further therapy would be based on the findings. Good luck and best wishes!

From the photos, my main suspicion is that at some point, Frodo developed a corneal ulcer or abrasion that has resulted in inflammation on the surface of the eye, followed by chronic scarring changes, such as pigmentary keratitis. With a thorough eye exam, your vet will be able to determine if any active corneal ulcers are present, check Frodo's eye pressure and tear production to determine if any other issues are present. Hello and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! It's a bit difficult to say for sure from the picture but it does look like Turbo's eyes are still having an issue. It may be helpful for you to post more information about Turbo's history and if the tobramycin is being used to treat conjunctivitis or a corneal ulcer. It looks to me like Turbo should be rechecked by a veterinarian to see if another medication is warranted. Good luck to you and Turbo!

I'm sorry to hear that Phoebe has had so many eye issues lately! Cloudiness to the eye is most commonly caused by corneal ulcers (scratches or abrasions on the surface of the eye), insufficient tear production, cataracts (if the lens within the eye is cloudy), among other issues. Green mucus does indicate that infection may be present, but this infection could be secondary to a corneal ulcer or other issue. Squinting is a sign of eye pain in dogs, so it does sound as though Phoebe is quite painful. Her sudden lethargy and loss of appetite could be related to eye pain, or could be another problem altogether. Conjunctivitis is inflammation of the conjunctiva, or the pinkish tissues surrounding the eye, and is not necessarily an actual diagnosis, but rather is a sign of other conditions. At this point, since Phoebe's eye is becoming more clouded with even more discharge despite the medication, the best thing you can do is take Phoebe back to the vet for a recheck. If your vet is closed today, I would recommend going to an emergency vet for more urgent evaluation since eye problems can progress rapidly. In all likelihood, Phoebe needs to have a full eye exam, as well as some diagnostic tests including a fluorescein stain of her eye (to check for ulcers/scratches on the cornea), Schirmer tear test (to check tear production), and possibly have her eye pressures tested. That's because the eye is such a delicate and important structure, and leaving them untreated can lead to vision loss. He really does need to see a vet as soon as possible, and typically there are vets on calls for emergencies over the weekend and for holidays. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website. I would take Ogi into a vet right away.
