My dog's eye is squinting. Should I use Isathal or Exocin eye drops?

There are two things you need to do: 1) put on a cone to prevent Jasper from doing more damage to the eye 2) take Jasper back to the vet for a recheck. Bring the Isathal with you so the vet can determine whether you have enough for the treatment. Do not put the Isathal on until your vet has rechecked the eye. Eye drops/ointments need to be given for at least 7 days and then the vet should resee the dog in order to make sure the treatment was successful.

Cedar is exposing her third eyelid. This can have several different causes, including head or neck trauma, something stuck under one of the lids, corneal ulcer or abrasion, infection, among others. If the medication was prescribed for Cedar and DOES NOT contain a steroid, it should be safe. Steroids could interfere with healing in some cases and should not be used until after evaluation by a vet.

I am so sorry to hear that Kaimana is experiencing these problems with her eye. Start by placing an e-collar or cone on Kaimana to prevent scratching or rubbing. If the eye is injured, inflamed or infected it is likely painful, this will prompt Her to scratch or rub her eye. However, this could inflict further damage, infection or even an ulceration. An rlceration is a tear in the top layer of the eye and is a serious condition. Because eye concerns with dogs, such as infections, corneal ulcerations, cataracts and glaucoma, can progress rapidly I would have her examined by your veterinarian to diagnose the issue immediately. The precise medication can then be dispensed by your veterinarian. Your vet will use a special tear stain drop to visualise the eye and the top layer to make are there are no ulcerations, and check for other conditions before prescribing medications. Please do not attempt to treat an eye infection at home with any over the counter medications, drops or ointments. This can lead to permanent damage and unnecessary pain or discomfort. She may have an underlying condition like dry eye or allergies that is causing the chronic problems. If so, she may need additional medications to treat the primary problem. Your vet will likely test for tear function (which may be abnormal even though you are seeing tears), look for ulcers, or test the pressure of the eye itself. Good luck and kisses to Jasmine!

Awww. Poor baby. She looks like they are painful. Their eyes stick out more than a lot of other breeds so they are very susceptible to eye injuries, scratches or even dryness. You could try artificial tears or some other straight saline eye drop. No medications unless prescribed by the veterinarian. Eye problems should be addressed quickly so if she doesn’t improve with just some saline flush or tears have her looked at. They will do a thorough eye exam and stain the eyes to look for any scratches

If it is just a little bit of discharge, then I would continue to monitor it. Tobramycin is an antibiotic, and if it was prescribed for Jackie, it should be safe. But you don't want to accidentally treat a bacterial infection when the true cause of the discharge is something like a corneal ulcer. Applying this medication before a vet makes a diagnosis may make it harder for the vet to determine the cause of the issue, if needed. Use a warm wet washcloth to remove the discharge. If it continues in a couple of hours, I would recommend that you call the vet that prescribes the medication to see if they recommend an exam or that you use the ointment.
