My dog's eye was hit, now it's shut and pink. What should I do?

Eye injuries are considered emergencies. I suggest you get Leo to a vet for an examination as soon as possible. The longer you wait to seek treatment, the more likely he is to have permanent damage and/or lose vision. I would get him to a vet ASAP. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

This is a medical emergency, and Blu has to see a vet now. His eye could have been severely injured, and leaving this untreated can lead to vision loss. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. I consider any swelling of the eye to be an emergency. It may simply be a touch of conjunctivitis but potentially there could be damage to the cornea, or a similar more serious injury. You can soothe the eye with a cooled tea bag for immediate relief, but I would have it checked asap.

I would take Snickers into a vet immediately. Any problems around the eye is considered an emergency because it's such as delicate and important structure. In addition, he needs his eye checked to make sure that the globe itself wasn't harmed. The fact that he won't let you touch it tells me it's hurting him. Please take him into a vet now.

I would take Mike in to the vet today have his eye checked. It's very important to have any eye condition examined and treated right away, as leaving it untreated can lead to vision loss. His eye should be stained with fluorescein just to make sure there wasn't any damage done to his corner when he was accidentally hit in the eye. If there was damage done, the vet can prescribe a treatment for it.

I would recommend getting Duke to the veterinarian ASAP. If he has a penetrating foreign body to the eye, puncture, or even a deep scratch he could potentially become blind in that eye without quick intervention. I wounds are often very painful and he may require pain medication, as well as topical medication and or systemic antibiotics.
