My dog's eye is swollen, dark, and not opening. What should I do?

This looks like a swelling of Poppy's conjunctiva as opposed to the eye itself. It could be due to an allergic reaction or infection such as conjunctivitis. She will need eye drops and antinflammatories to settle this down so go to your vet as soon as you can. In the mean time pressing a cooled tea bag on the outside of the eye can provide some relief.

He can have a possible infection or conjunctivitis since it is affected both eyes. Since the discharge is getting worse and he does not want to open his eyes, it is best he sees a vet to determine if there is a scratch on the cornea or just an infection. There is topical antibiotics +/- a steroid to help clear them. The only thing you can do at home is rinse with sterile eye wash and try to apply a warm compress to help with the swelling.

If the eye itself is swollen, not the skin around it, then no it will not go away. The pressure of being trampled could have caused Baby's eye to exit the orbit and that can lead to blindness without prompt treatment. Baby needs to go to the nearest open vet clinic immediately.

Corneal ulcers and injuries can cause loss of vision, are painful and can be caused even by crusty eye lids scraping on the eye ball. Poor girl. Because she is keeping her eye closed, it is very likely she has a scratch or ulcer on her cornea (eye surface). Because of this type of injury, Suziee Lu will need to see your vet to have the eye checked. If there is a scratch, as suspected, then she will need topical prescription eye medication to get this to heal properly. It is ok to wipe the outside of the lid with warm salt water until you can get her in to your vet for further care. It sounds as your puppy is suffering from an eye infection, it is relatively common in dogs. you will need to take him to the vet the first chance you get, the vet will check the eyes, if it is indeed a simple eye infection your vet will prescribe an antibiotic eye drops that will probably solve the problem in no time.
