My Golden puppy has eye gunk. Could it be pink eye or irritation?

That is probably just due to excessive discharge overnight or during sleep. I would recommend to to monitor it and if persistent take Lioh to your veterinarian as conjunctivitis could be a possible cause. This kin of inflammation could be commonly be caused by infective or allergic causes in puppies. It looks like Grace's third eyelid is up more then her eye is drooping. I would recommend a veterinarian. SHe may just have some irritation or infection in her eye but she could also have scratched her cornea. Poor Pippa! I definitely see the discharge in the inner corner of her eye, and a little bit of redness. You should definitely have her examined by a vet as soon as possible, because eye issues can turn into emergencies very quickly. The discharge can be due to conjunctivitis, a foreign body, or even a scratch in the cornea (this condition is dangerous as it can quickly progress and even cause a dog to lose their eye). In the meantime, you can get Pippa an E-collar (or "cone") to prevent her from scratching the eye and causing further damage and apply artificial tears to the eye two to three times per day. Hello. Oh, dear, having breathing issues can be very serious. We have to think about heart or lung issues, including heartworm disease, bronchitis, pneumonia, or even heart failure. You do not mention how old your pet is as this may rule out some conditions, but any breathing issues are serious. The eye discharge can also be a reflection of a pet feeling unwell. I would strongly recommend having your vet examine your golden. Some problems can be eliminated/diagnosed pretty quickly & hopefully, any required treatments can be started & your pet will be feeling better very soon. I would perhaps give it a few more days if the discharge is not green or yellow. Wipe the eyes clean several times daily. If the discharge does become green or yellow, if Oakley starts rubbing his eyes or squinting more than usual, if the whites of his eyes are looking red or if his eyes look cloudy then a trip to the vet is in order. If he develops any respiratory signs (nasal discharge, cough, sneeze, trouble breathing), then an exam is needed. Best of luck to you and Oakley!

This could be due to an eye injury or conditions such as a corneal laceration, corneal ulcer, conjunctivitis, dry eye (also known as KCS), among many other conditions. Poor pup! Recurring yellowish discharge is a common sign of an eye infection, or an injury to the eye such as a corneal scratch or ulcer. He will need prescription eye ointment from your veterinarian to treat this problem, so I would recommend taking him in for an exam as soon as you are able to.
