My dog's eye has gunk. What's causing this discharge from his eye?

There is nothing you can do at home. He needs to be evaluated as soon as possible as this is likely serious and his eye health may be in jeopardy. The main reason is that greenish discharge can also be observed with things like a corneal ulcer or conjunctivitis for example. Your veterinarian could check for this and treat accordingly.
