My dog has an eye condition. Will it affect his vision and what to do?

Any scarring on the cornea will cause changes to the vision. Pets with this condition can also get pigmentation of the cornea which will also cause blind spots. I'm assuming that the enterobacter bacteria was cultured from something like a corneal ulcer. This seems like an unusual bacteria for this location - enterobacter is most commonly found in urinary tract infections and occasionally skin infections. Since you know what type of bacteria is present I'm assuming your vet was also able to tailor antibiotic therapy to this specific bacteria as well and if so hopefully the infection will resolve. I would strongly recommend getting him seen by the vet as soon as possible, as there is a risk of perforation of the eye if this is due to glaucoma. The vet can check the pressures inside the eye, and prescribe medications to help reduce pressure or inflammation. In the meantime, ensure that Monty does not scratch or rub his eye as it is very sensitive and may be prone to being perforated. An e-collar (cone) may help with this purpose. Without knowing the cause, it is i possible to recommend a treatment. Capolin should be examined by a vet to determine the cause and treat. He could have an infection, inflammation, glaucoma, etc. and your vet can do some diagnostic tests to help duagnose. He may need an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory, or other medications to help treat.
