Will my dog's dry eye scarring affect his vision or cause blindness?

Pet's info: Dog | German Shepherd | Male | unneutered | 3 years and 7 months old

Yes to my previous question he had conjunctivitis sicca on 4 th may 2019 and we take him to vet after 10 days when it was getting worse so vet given him moxicip and tear drops 4 time a day now course is done but still it is this scarring is there so will it going to affect his vision and when it will disappear and if infection I would have left un treated can cause him blind also ?

Any scarring on the cornea will cause changes to the vision. Pets with this condition can also get pigmentation of the cornea which will also cause blind spots. KCS is generally a chronic and requires daily treatment with an immune suppressant eye drop like cyclosporin and an artificial tear. Here is a helpful link:

If that was an injury to the cornea, make sure to have it rechecked by the veterinarian to make sure it is fully healed. Pets with KCS will be more prone to infections and will have a harder time healing injuries. Any ongoing infection or untreated injuries can lead to blindness and pain. I hope this helps.

Hello. Yes, because the scar is on the cornea, as the cornea moves so does the scar. The scar may become less obvious with time, but there will probably always be some sort of spot there. Will my dog's eye be easily hurt after grid keratotomy healing?
The cornea should heal back to it's normal state after a grid keratotomy. There may always be a scar on the cornea but that does not mean the eye will get injured more easily. It will never be as good as the other eye; if there is a corneal scar he will have some visual impairment but it should not be significant. I don't think you really need to worry if the specialist said it has healed.

Hello. This appears to be corneal edema, which essentially causes thickening of cornea resulting in a decrease in clarity. I would revisit about this with your veterinarian as over time, corneal edema may lead to recurrent or chronic corneal erosions. A thorough ocular examination should be done, including measurement of intraocular pressures, fluorescein staining, a Schirmer tear test, & examination of intraocular structures to look for any underlying causes, including the possible use of the medication you are now using in the eye. Hello. Was the latanoprost scripted out by your vet? This medication is used in dogs with glaucoma, not KCS. Snoopy may also be hypersensitive to this medication, so if your vet has not diagnosed glaucoma, nor scripted the latanoprost to you, you should not be putting this in his eyes. Why is my dog's eye droopy and closing? Is it a serious issue?
