My dog accidentally took a double Mirtazapine dose. Is she okay?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | spayed | 14 years old | 39.6 lbs

Angel takes 15mg Mirtazapine daily as an appetite stimulant. I didn’t realize my boyfriend already gave it to her this morning and I just gave her another 15mg. She is approx 20 kg. Will she be okay? What should I do/watch out for?

The dosing does go up to 1mg/kg every 12 hours. So Angel's dose at this would be 20mg twice daily, so she should be absolutely fine. I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns and I would be more than happy to help you further.
