My dog survived Parvo, was vaccinated. Now has diarrhea. Is it Parvo?

It would be extremely unlikely for a dog that has survived parvovirus to be affected again - the virus provides such excellent immunity that some veterinarians will take serum from recovered dogs to give transfusions to those affected with the disease (although this may or may not help). There are many other diseases that could cause diarrhea with that distinctive parvoviral smell. If the diarrhea is severe I'd recommend seeing your veterinarian who can run some tests to determine what might be causing his diarrhea this time around and start some treatment.

It very well could be parvo. I suggest you get her to your vet ASAP for an exam and testing. You really need to know if it is parvo or not. Either way, your vet will help you determine the cause of the bloody diarrhea and give you treatment options. Then, once this diarrhea is cleared up you can get her started on her vaccines. If Paris tested positive for parvovirus it is likely that she did have parvovirus since we do not typically see a false positive on the test. While many dogs get very sick from parvovirus there are some dogs who develop mild clinical signs and others can even be asymptomatic for the disease. If she did not have a parvovirus test performed than it certainly could have been another disease - there are many causes of vomiting and bloody diarrhea in puppies ranging from intestinal parasites to dietary indiscretion (eating non-food items). I'm glad she's feeling better!

I am so sorry to hear that Sweety isn’t feeling well. Certainly bacterial infectionor a parasitic infection could be possible. However I would most concerned about a problem called intussusception which is a serious problem where the intestines telescope on themselves and cause an obstruction. Animals vaccinated with a live vaccine can develop mild symptoms and shedding for a short while in the minority of cases, but inactive vaccines would not have this effect. There are many possible causes of viral and bacterial diarrhea and i would recommend testing stools parvo in affected cases if you are concerned

Usually dogs with parvovirus or distemper are very lethargic and ill. If your dog is eating and drinking fine and has lots of energy then I don’t think the diarrhea is from either of those diseases. I do recommend a fecal exam soon, perhaps you can drop one off before your appointment to check for intestinal parasites that could cause diarrhea. Also I would monitor what she’s eating and check to make sure she’s not getting into things she shouldn’t in the yard. She’s a puppy and they love to eat anything! Should she become lethargic, stop eating or the diarrhea worsens then don’t wait, take her in to a veterinarian right away for treatment. We do not know if the immunity lasts a life time, but unless there is something seriously wrong with the puppies immune system, they should not get the virus again. This does not mean you should stop or skip any vaccinations. Continue with them for the rest of ChaChi's life. Take care.
