My dog has a creamy white, spherical lump on his penis. Is it normal?

Thanks for the question again and the pictures. From what I can see on the images the penis looks normal, possibly slightly swollen but overall normal. It does not look like there is excessive discharge or signs of infections. If the penis is able to retract normally inside the prepuce, I would not be worried about it.

There is no picture attached to your post, so I can't say if his penis looks normal or not. There should be two bumps on the side of the shaft of the penis. They are called the bulbourethral glands, and they become enlarged when the dog is excited or aroused.

Hello and thank you for your questions about Jonesy. It's difficult to know if this is normal or not without being able to examine him. Some dogs do have a protrusion above the urethral opening on their penis and it's often lighter colored than the rest of the tissue. This is normal. However, if you are noticing him licking more than normal, this often indicates discomfort. Young male dogs, especially if they are not neutered, often get infections in the prepuce and this can cause excessive licking and often an increase in discharge. Male dogs can also get bladder infections which can also cause increased licking. Since Jonesy cannot talk and tell you why this is happening, I recommend to have him examined this week. This looks completely normal to me. Appears to be the bulbourethral glands that you have circled. I would not be concerned about this at all. Rule of thumb, if things are symmetrical they are usually normal. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

This structure is a normal part of the male dog's anatomy. Depending on how it feels that could be something benign such as a fluid filled cyst or an abscess (pocket of infection and pus), or it could be something more aggressive such as cancer. The only way to tell is by taking a sample of it and looking at the cells under the microscope. If it's a cyst or an abscess, your veterinarian will be able to tell most likely without needing to look at the cells. I would recommend having the lump evaluated by your veterinarian. In the interim you should monitor the lump daily to note any changes in size or appearance. Hope this helps and best of luck
