My dog choked, then swallowed it. Is he okay or still at risk?

Good job to stop the choking. If Finn ate his food normally then there is no blockage. He may do a little coughing afterwards as his throat may have become irritated. This will resolve in a few days. He is likely fine at this stage. Monitor him closely and if he starts gagging, choking, vomiting, not eating, coughing then get him to the vet right away. Please be very careful giving any chew bone treats of any kind to a 2 month old puppy. They are not recommended until they are adults.

I do not see any need to worry at this time. If it was stuck in his throat, then he would be continually gagging and coughing. There is also not much of a chance it would be causing problems in the stomach or intestines, because these are digestible. Signs of a blockage are: not eating, not pooping, vomiting, and acting very depressed/painful. If you happen to see these signs, then this would warrant an urgent trip to the vet. Otherwise, he seems to be doing OK, so I wouldn't be concerned. I hope that helps and all is well with Coby.

If Chewy is acting normal so far, I wouldn't be concerned just yet - the hair tie could possibly cause an obstruction, but there's a good chance that it will pass through without causing any problems. Signs of a possible obstruction would include repeated episodes of vomiting, not wanting to eat, and acting lethargic - if he develops any of these symptoms, I would have him seen by a vet right away. But as long as he is acting normal, eating and drinking with no vomiting, I wouldn't worry. In most cases, objects like this will pass through within 2-3 days of being swallowed; you can look for it in his stool so that you'll know once it's safely out :)

Given it was a small size, it should pass fine on it's own. I wouldn't take Bentley into the vet now. You can monitor him for signs of obstruction (vomiting, anorexia, lethargy, constipation), but he should be fine :-)

She would be too uncomfortable. Maybe something was stuck before but may have cleared by now. Since she is sleeping, just keep an eye on her for now. The biggest problem with a bigger piece of something swallowed is that it could remain stuck in the esophagus which can be dangerous. Typically signs of this are excessive swallowing/gagging, drooling, acting restless, decreased appetite, etc. If it was fully swallowed then it may or may not upset his stomach (decreased appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy). If you become concerned that it may not have been fully swallowed or if he is acting off then a visit to your family vet is in order.
