What to do if my dog ate too many calming pills or supplements?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | spayed | 85 lbs

I think my dog ate maybe a 1/2 bottle of Petaxin Calm + Comfort Aid. Normal dose is 4 pills, so she may have had at least 15 doses.

If she just ate them (within the last 30 minutes or so) then you can induce vomiting with hydrogen peroxide - 2 tablespoons. Hopefully she will vomit them up.

If it has been longer than 30 minutes then you should take her to the vet. She may have no side effects or she may have some GI or neurological symptoms. There is no way to predict how a certain animal will react.
