My dog ate a whole jar of PetNaturals calming chews. Is she okay?

A one time ingestion of this higher dose wouldn't be expected to cause any toxic effects. Your dog may be a little sleepier than usual. If he develops any other symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, extreme lethargy or weakness then seek veterinary care.

If she just ate them (within the last 30 minutes or so) then you can induce vomiting with hydrogen peroxide - 2 tablespoons. Hopefully she will vomit them up. If it has been longer than 30 minutes then you should take her to the vet. She may have no side effects or she may have some GI or neurological symptoms. There is no way to predict how a certain animal will react.

I think the worst that will happen is some mild GI upset like vomiting and/or diarrhea - both of which should be self-limiting (meaning they should go away on their own within 48 hours). If they don't, then he needs to see a vet. He may be more tired than normal but not comatose so if he is sleeping and you can't get a reaction out of him then you need to get him to a vet ASAP. I recommend no food for 8-12 hours but be sure he has plenty of water available. These treats don't really contain anything toxic at large doses but remember, every dog reacts differently to medications/supplements just like people so if, at any time, you are worried about him you need to have him examined by a vet.

An upset stomach can lead to diarrhea and vomiting which are usually self-limiting (meaning they will resolve on their own within 12-36 hours). If she begins showing any signs of an upset stomach that don't resolve in that time period then you should take her to your vet for treatment. Capsicum (cayenne) is not toxic to dogs. This may cause Bruce to have a slightly upset stomach, possibly some diarrhoea for example but there shouldn't be any lasting problems as it is a natural herbal based product. In that case a bland diet of boiled chicken breast and boiled white rice may be helpful for a few days to help settle things. If he displays any signs other than mild gastrointestinal upset or if the symptoms persist then I would recommend making an appointment with your veterinarian so that they can examine him. Hello, and thank you for your question! It sounds like Sebra is a big dog, so the most I would expect is some short-lived vomiting and diarrhea. I would suggest not feeding her for about 8 hours after she ate the treats, then start feeding her small, frequent meals of a bland diet such as boiled chicken and plain white rice. This is an easy to digest meal that will help clear her digestive tract. If she has persistent vomiting or diarrhea for 12 hours, then she will need to visit the vet, in the off chance that the treats have caused an obstruction in her intestines. Monitor your dog for oversedation, Since he is a larger dog, I'm inclined to believe that he shouldn't have much trouble with these. If he becomes lethargic or unresponsive o seems to have trouble breathing, get him seen by a vet immediately and take the packaging with you.
