My dog has a blue tongue spot, is lethargic, and not eating. What's wrong?

Rocky is very handsome! It is possible he contracted a tick-borne disease when the tick was attached. I recommend taking him back to the vet to run some blood work and find out why he isn't feeling well. If they find the cause, they can start medications to help him feel better. Hello. I am so sorry about your loss. If you are looking for a cause, only a necropsy done immediately after death could give any answers. Otherwise, Rocky's death could have been due to trauma, intoxication/poisoning, or massive GI infection/blockage/intussusception. Hello, sorry to hear about Rocky. It sounds like he is feeling unwell but these signs are non-specific. It may be caused by multiple reasons, most often a dietary indiscretion, ingestion of foreign material, or in puppies this young an infection with a virus or parasite may cause this. If Rocky is not eating by tomorrow, or if he begins to vomit, have diarrhea, or lethargy then he needs to be evaluated by his veterinarian immediately. You can offer him a bland diet tomorrow of plain white rice, skinless and boneless boiled chicken and cottage cheese low fat. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Hello and thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. It looks like normal pigmentation, which can appear suddenly on the skin or mucous membranes. Please, show it to your local vets the next time you take Rocky in to make sure there is nothing to worry about.

It could be that Rocky is ill causing him to make the painful noises and not eat. Anorexia is a very general sign of illness, and it can be caused by systemic illness, infection, injury, or inflammation. Given that he hasn't eaten in three days, I would have him seen by a vet right away for a physical exam, blood tests, urinalysis, and possible x-rays to diagnose what is causing his symptoms. Once the cause is found, the vet can discuss treatment options with you.

Poor Rocky. He could have a problem with his prostate, may have leptospirosis, a UTI, or bladder stones causing this. He is very sick and he needs to see a vet immediately. Please take him into one now.

I am worried Rocky may have bad infection in his mouth or that he is trying to vomit. If you have access to a veterinarian, I strongly recommend you take him in for an examination. He likely needs to have blood work and xrays done. He may have eaten something that has upset his stomach, or caused a blockage inside his intestines. I don't think there is anything you can do for him at home--he needs to see a vet.
