My 6-month-old puppy is foaming, mouth smells bad. What to do?

6 months old he have started foaming at his mouth and its smells bad then what I have to do

I am worried Rocky may have bad infection in his mouth or that he is trying to vomit. If you have access to a veterinarian, I strongly recommend you take him in for an examination. He likely needs to have blood work and xrays done. He may have eaten something that has upset his stomach, or caused a blockage inside his intestines. I don't think there is anything you can do for him at home--he needs to see a vet.

Poor Rocky! I understand that this is a difficult situation to be in. With Rocky's age, if he is not fully vaccinated, the first possibility that comes to mind is that he may have parvo. This is a life-threatening illness that is very common in unvaccinated puppies, and often causes the symptoms you describe. It's also possible that Rocky may have an intestinal obstruction due to something he swallowed, or may have ingested something toxic.

Regardless, I'm afraid this sounds like a very serious problem - there is really nothing at all you can do at home to treat it, since anything you try to give him by mouth will just come back up. He needs IV fluids and injectable medication to control his vomiting as soon as possible, or I would be very concerned that he may not survive.

I understand that costs are a concern for you, but I'm afraid there are really no options other than taking him to a vet as soon as possible. You can see if there is a low-cost SPCA clinic in your area that may be able to help, or call around to some local veterinary practices to see if they accept payments. I can understand being worried. Foaming out of the mouth is never a good sign. The immediate concern I have is rabies. If he's never been vaccinated against rabies, there's a potential he could have it if he came into contact with a rabid animal recently. It could also be that he is nauseous or has a dental problem. Because I can't see him in person to rule out rabies and because I don't know his vaccine status, do not handle him if he's not vaccinated. Call your local animal control for help with him. Isolate him from other people and animals until they get there. Now if he is fully vaccinated against rabies, then he won't have it but I would still have him seen by a vet today. The white liquid is most likely frothy saliva. With this combination of symptoms, I would recommend that Rocky be examined by a vet. Constipation is possible, but other GI issues like an obstruction or pancreatitis can cause the same symptoms. The vet will do a thorough exam and may recommend abdominal x-rays or blood work to determine what could be going on.

Well, it sounds like Blake is either sick or could potentially have a wound in his mouth. Anytime there is a dog acting abnormal with foam in the mouth it is important to know if he has been vaccinated for rabies. If not- call your veterinarian immediately. If he has been vaccinated then I would encourage you to look in his mouth with a flash light. Look under the tongue and all through the mouth for a wound. If there is no oral wound then that makes me more concerned that he is sick. In that case I think you may need to try to find a way to have him evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible . My dog ate fast food, is vomiting, and won't eat. What to do?

Rockie is adorable and I'm sorry to hear that he isn't feeling well. After eating a heavy, greasy meal, he may have developed gastroenteritis (inflammation in his stomach and intestines) or pancreatitis. Aside from assuring that he is drinking water and offering a bit of a bland diet (boiled white meat chicken and rice) as you have done, there isn't anything more that can be done at home. Young puppies are more susceptible to the effects of dehydration than adult dogs and need to be treated a bit more urgently. At this point, Rockie needs to take a trip to the vet for an exam, diagnostic testing and supportive care (IV fluids and medications). I hope that he is feeling better soon!

Puppy not eating, vomiting, sleeping after first vaccination?

This sounds serious. You need to get Rocky to a vet as soon as possible for treatment. This is not something you can "fix" at home. The two main possibilities for his symptoms are: 1) vaccination reaction or 2) parvo virus however, there are any numbers of things that could be the issue. Without examining him myself it is too hard to say. Please get Rocky to a vet ASAP. A puppy his age will get severely dehydrated with all that vomiting and not eating.
